Support me in supporting the Ron Paul Freedom Movement
A digest of what's happening now with what's Ron Paul Campaign
How to Support Ron Paul For President:
Newsletter Dec. 7
Compiled by Patricia Mikkelson livablefutureproject@gmail.com
This is the best of the best of all the hundred or so emails I receive daily about the Ron Paul Freedom Movement. I am on what I consider to be about 25 key mailing lists, and I hope that I can present to you very inspiring and helpful information. If you can print any of this out and share it with people who are not on line, please do so. Also, if you can get a portable dvd player (about $70) you can show dvd’s to people.
Pledge for the Tea Party on Dec. 16. Even if all you do is give $5—the number of donors is important, too. Sign up now! http://www.teaparty07.com/

Please Ignore Ron Paul: A letter to the mainstream media about why they will fail in their efforts to discount Ron Paul. A real tear jerker!

Homeschooling Brochure from RP Campaign Headquarters…Lovely!
http://files.meetup.com/637160/Campaign%20Flier%202.pdf
The campaign is going to print the above flier for us, but they need to have an estimate of how many to print. They can be used as slim jims, mailers or inserts in newsletters/magazines. Give some thought as to how many you can get out and really explore every avenue. Can you leave a stack at a Homeschool supply store? Or maybe a stack at the library or other public building frequented by homeschoolers? How many can you pass out at your next homeschool meeting or field trip? How many homeschoolers can you mail one to? Can you mail one to the publishers of the curriculum you use or the homeschooling publications you read? Can you insert them into a local newsletter?
Please email me (not the list) and let me know how many you would need.
Let's get creative!

> Lawrence Lepard is the person who recently ran the full page Ron Paul ad in USA today. His comments/article to all of us on Daily Paul is found here: http://www.dailypaul.com/node/12519

> I couldn't agree more. Here's some suggestions to get more primary votes during the Holidays:
>
> 1. Voter registration forms. Get them and keep them with you. Bug your friends, family and neighbors to get registered to vote republican. Always have the forms on hand and ready to go. Don't assume they are already registered. Ask, inquire, dig, and find out.
> 2. Take fliers and slim jims to Grandma's house for Christmas. And bring a Ron Paul DVD with you to share while your opening-up the presents.
> 3. Write a heartfelt letter to everyone in your address book. Include fliers, and a list of YouTube video titles to watch.
> 4. When discussing Ron Paul, tell them he's never let his patients, his family, or the American public down in 50 years of loving service. He never has. He never will.
> 5. Remind them that our country is lost and traveling down the wrong highway. Explain to them that the road map is right in front of our noses. It's called the United States Constitution.
> 6. Tell them that first and foremost, Ron Paul is a Constitutionalist.
> 7. Talk to someone, anyone, EVERYONE about Ron Paul. If you don't tell others about Ron Paul, who will?
> 8. Talk about his character as a husband, father, grandfather, educator, author, doctor, flight surgeon, and Statesman; an educated man of honor, principal and integrity. Tell them you love, respect, and TRUST him. Promise them that you know for certain that he will never let us down.
> 9. Plead with them not to waste their vote on a single other candidate. Voting for anyone else is a vote for business as usual in D.C. More wars, more taxes, more inflation, more lies, bigger government, and less freedom for the American people.
> 10. Have a long talk with yourself. Ask yourself why you haven't walked out your front door and talked to 100 of your neighbors? Why not? You could do this in one weekend. Just speak from your heart and tell them about your Hero. That's all there is to it. Here's a wonderful training video that shows how it done. It's only 12 minutes long: http://ronpaulreveres.com/canvassin...
> 11. The republican nomination is not for sale. Expensive radio and TV ads won't buy it. We have to work/earn it by winning their hearts and minds.
>
> No one can finish the R3volution but ourselves.

THIS IS HUGE, FOLKS!

I have requested addresses from these folks. I hope ten people will volunteer to help write letters. We can do these at our meetup on Thursday--maybe even get some press coverage--it is such a unique idea! These guys are organized! We will need donations of stamps, envelopes, paper. I will make a message on the message board where we can discuss this. http://ronpaul.meetup.com/555/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3914346&lastpage=yes#13476769
Forget the jaded pundits, the rigged polls and disrespectful media. Here's what I see happening in Iowa and NH. What do you think?

There's only one thing we can directly influence, and that's how our local community votes. Let's each commit to deliver San Francisco to Ron Paul!
I'll be out canvassing tomorrow; I hope you will be too!

Is there a chance maybe we get/campain get like a place and have a new years celebration. I am talking about All ages gathering including music, maybe food, donation box/funder raiser, dancing, maybe Ron Paul. No Alcohol!!! got to keep it clean for campain. and see how many people we could get there, If nothing else charge a small cover, proceeds go to the campain. Have a Ron Paul New Years Bash. Loads of fun and hopefully break out new supporters, and get some attn. Could be held anywhere in iowa, looks like he will be in state.
We just got here at the airfield and they said there is no problem with us having the Launch Rally here after all! The primary issue is regarding the hanger itself being off limits.
So, we hope you are spreading the word about the Ron Paul Blimp to your Meetup group so we can get a crowd here!
We realize it would have been best if the launch date had been set in stone, but the art banners being constructed typically take months, yet Airship Management Services is working with professionals on this to get them here in an unprecedented time frame.
As soon as we have a more definite launch time, and have approval to make the location public, we will release this information. Keep a check on the RonPaulBlimp.com website, as we will be providing updates to the schedule as we get them.
Thank you so much for being patient in this historic and monumental occasion for the cause of LIBERTY!

Announcing a new event for Ron Paul 2008 Meetups!
What: Put ronpaul2008. com on screen in TIMES SQUARE on December 16 for
Tea Party 07.
When: Tuesday, December 11, All Day Long.
Where: (A location for this event hasn't been chosen yet)
Event Description: Our ingenious Ron Paul supporters are at it again!
A group is trying to raise $50,000 to put ronpaul2008. com on one of
the monitors in Times Square on December 16 to display the fundraising
totals as they're updated in real time during Tea Party 07. Folks,
this is the opportunity of a lifetime and a totally unprecedented
event. There is absolutely NO WAY the media can ignore THIS ONE! There
will be live camera shots on cable news networks looking at Times
Square throughout the day, especially with the heavy media
concentration in New York. Oh: did I mention the MILLIONS of people
who will be walking through Times Square on that day?
Let's do this. Please donate here:
http://ronpaultime. com/
To put this in perspective of how relatively small a contribution this
is, they need only for 1,000 people to donate $50 per pop.
They have to have the money by tomorrow night, so go ahead and donate!

Inspiring moments at the Rock for RP and Freedom concert
First of all, David, the Students for Ron Paul organizer, did a wonderful job of creating a schedule. I volunteered to help keep everything run smoothly. I thought I could be the MC at the same time, but it became apparent to me that a student was more appropriate, and that I couldn't do this job by myself.
I met Adam only once or twice at a meetup. But everytime I would go to church, I would see him there, and we always talked Ron Paul afterwards. I found it inspiring and fun to share with him all the successes of the previous week, and he was always receptive. On the morning of the concert, I thought, "Adam is going to be at the concert from 10am. He is a television talk show host on the campus television show. He can be the master of ceremonies!"
It was absolutely amazing that he was totally okay with doing things at the last minute and on the fly. We worked together so well, and I just kept thanking God and Adam for the blessing of having a partner in this. Everything flowed smoothly, and people seemed very happy with the event.
The Family Dogs were a huge blessing also. John, a member of the Students for Ron Paul, a registered student organization at U of A, inspired his older brother to let us use their sound equipment. They are an established band and really going places--although two of their members are soon to have babies, which will slow them down. John's brother (I forgot his name) was totally there for us in being willing to help and be of service. The whole band is comprised of Ron Paul supporters, and their father was there as well--also an RP supporter.
I just think it is wonderful that David never seemed to get nervous about the fact that one of the key ingredients--a large enough sound system to power the Greek Theatre--was missing until Wednesday before the concert. I think he knew something would come up--and it would be good enough. What we had was just right. I see that a lot in our group--we aren't trying to do things perfectly--we just do our best, and see the positive.
It was a miracle that my daughter made it on time. My husband was feeling sick and got a very late start--he thought I told him the performance was at 3:15 instead of 2:15--but he was there just in time.
I got to know some meetup members better that I hadn't known, including students. Each connection and conversation was very rewarding.
Well, there's lots more to share, but I just have to go and take care of other commitments.
Rock for Ron Paul & Freedom: A celebration
Speeches by Ron Paul Supporters: About 15 people shared various topics which covered a wide range of subjects all relating to our theme. I loved the variety in both presentation and topic. Although I was pretty busy a lot of the time, trying to keep up with who was next on the agenda--supporting Adam, who did a super job of being master of ceremonies, what I did hear was so inspiring! One older gentleman who knows Ron Paul personally was really reluctant to speak because it was frightening. But he overcame his fear because he is so committed to supporting Ron Paul. Another person had a great fear of public speaking, but wanted to share a unique message--an environmentalist supporting Ron Paul. She almost had a panic attack afterwards, but was able to meditate and calm herself. People are stretching and sacrificing for this cause. I am going to write a whole blog with recollections from speeches, hoping that others will join in and add comments.
Bands: David did such a great job of finding a lovely variety of bands. It was nice to have about 6 different bands--plus speakers in between. A real winning combo.
Master of Ceremonies--Adam. Adam was so happy to be able to help. His schedule is such that he can not attend our in person meetings--although he does what he can to support the cause of freedom. He really made up for lost time yesterday, being willing to step in at the last minute as the Master of Ceremonies. I volunteered for the job, but realized that a student really needed to do this. He was amazingly flexible and patient as we planned at the last minute, with so many changes happening--I loved working with him!
Our Up With Freedom Band: I really wanted to fulfill my vision of having a band that presents a message for a better world to a receptive audience (had this dream since 26 years ago). Not only did David, the organizer, put the band on the roster--but he was part of it! As a skilled drummer he added a lot. Tyler added his great skills as guitarist. Chris, my son, and Mahriyanna, my daughter, were also in the group. (another dream come true!) And thanks to Sadie, our other young singer and dancer. Last but not least, Allison not only has amazing adminstrative and sign-making skills, but she plays the penny whistle and sings wonderfully. We only had two rehearsals--but we rocked!
All hands on deck: So many people showed up at 10 am on Sat. to help, and stayed until past 6pm--last ones leaving about 7:30. People followed up on their commitments like I have never seen before. Every band showed up. Every person who said they were coming to help (that I know of) was there. This kind of integrity and commitment makes our organizing efforts so strong--building strong ties of trust which we are going to need if time get rough.
The perfect weather: It was partly cloudy, a little cool--but for November--perfect! We prayed for weather that would be conducive to an outdoor gathering, and we got it.
The perfect venue: I love the Greek Theatre--the combination of a huge state, good acoustics, grassy area in front on which to dance and play, grass and side walk farther back to put informational tables and hang out--with relatively easy access--is so nurturing! The right place where there is room for a multitude of activites makes such a difference.
The Right Sound System: I first started looking for a sound system to help David out on Halloween night. I still remember because I was at a party at Arsagas, and I asked the sound guy (and drummer) of the group, Strange Heroes, if the group could play, and if they could do sound. He said it was really difficult to do sound at the Greek Theatre because it was so big. But just three days before the concert (that's what I call faith in action!) a sound system was volunteered by the Family Dogs who are passionate supporters of Ron Paul. The connection came because John, member of Students for Ron Paul, asked his older brother if they would provide sound system. They agreed--if they could play, too, of course! They were all so helpful during the concert. Way to go!
The yummy refreshments: I couldn't imagine being able to provide enough food for all the people (I am estimating about 200 showed up throughout the day--but it is hard to say). But Qdoba's really came through with a huge supply of chips and salsa. Volunteers supplied a variety of dips, Eureka Pizza sent some pizza, and Red Devil Energy drinks supplied all the beverages. Wow! We even had food left over.
Over all flow: I was just overjoyed to see how everyone worked together so harmoniously, both in set up and break down. Some of us didn't even want to leave. I think if we had scheduled a celebration party afterwards a lot of us would have attended--basking in the glow of a great day. Isn't it amazing how we can have so much energy when people are positive, helpful, encouraging?
A great attendance. We had a variety of people show up. Friends and relatives of band members. People who saw the posters. People who could hear the music (another advantage of an outdoor venue). People who wanted some free food. Friends and relatives of meetup members and Students of Ron Paul members. People who are passionate about supporting Ron Paul and haven't yet been able to connect. Even some members of the Young Democrats stopped by after their conference.
A few amazing things that stand out:
Eric saying, from his heart and gut, that he would take the bullet for Ron Paul--that's how much he cares about the man and the message
Being able to sing in the Up With Freedom Band--fulfilling a life long dream.
Richard sharing that Camp Casey peace activists are starting to get on the band wagon for Ron Paul, overcoming prejudices about issues that often divide and conquer us like abortion or gay rights.
Ron Paul Supporters coming up in stage from age 3 to 65 and sharing in one sentence why they support Ron Paul.
Richard telling many of us the story: he goes to the airport to bring a friend who flew from Springfield all the way here to attend the concert. A guy at the airport sees his Ron Paul Button. He says,"I know about Ron Paul--I saw this box that said, "Google Ron Paul" and I googled him. He is great! Richard gave the guy his button, of course!
A woman called me the night before to inquire about getting organizational consulting from me. I invited her to the concert. She showed up. We knew each other (but didn't recognize voice or name over the phone) She didn't know anything about Ron Paul before, but left on fire!
I made connections with meetup members and Students of Ron Paul that were so meaningful--learning more about people and planning new projects--like how to create a system like Meetup which is specifically geared towards our freedom movement efforts.
Being able to make all kinds of announcements and acknowledgements from the stage when there was a little time.
Seeing people dance and clap while we were playing.
Inviting the two members of the Young Democrats to speak their mind--showing them that we aren't dogmatic about Ron Paul--just about freedom! They left being a little more open to Ron Paul, I'm sure! They spoke about how even though they were democrats, they were impressed by our grassroots movement.
Enjoying the variety of music and getting to dance with abandon.
My whole family was there--two kids, husband, former husband--that was so awesome! My whole family has always been supportive of most of Ron Paul's values, so it this campaign has brought us together to work for the cause of freedom.
Best of all for me--was being able to work on a project with others and feel the huge satisfaction of a job well done--the love, connection, respect, and joy was so powerfully felt by us-and we supported Ron Paul and the Freedom Movement at the same time!
Hey, thanks Ron Paul, for inspiring us all to work together for freedom. We hope you can come to our next concert and speak to us!

COMMENTARY
Ron Paul: Constitutional Choice
for President of these United States
By Dave Duffy
In the 2008 presidential race, one candidate stands so far above all the others that there's no competition. That man is Dr. Ron Paul, running in the Republican primary.
Paul (known as "Dr. No" in Congress for his votes against big government) has a 30-year track record of saying what he means and doing what he says. He's a man of honor and integrity -- and he's the only candidate in the race who understands that the U.S. Constitution sharply limits federal government powers.
He's the only candidate in the race who believes in the rule of law -- and the only one with a long record of sticking to his principles. He has never voted to raise taxes. Never voted for an unbalanced budget. Has never taken a congressional junket. He voted against the Iraq war and the Patriot Act. He won't even participate in the lucrative congressional pension plan.
But don't take my word for how good this man is. Visit Paul's campaign website and watch him on the video clips below. Then get involved, as thousands of others have. The media tries to ignore him. But the fact is that, in the second quarter of 2007, he raised more money than "major" candidate John McCain. He ranks high in straw polls and online polls, and he's got more enthusiastic grassroots support than any candidate in years -- maybe even in decades. Some call him "the last peaceful hope for America." We don't know about that. But we know he's got our support -- and deserves yours.
Defining LibertyThe philosophy of liberty is based on self-ownership. The following simple but elegant and hard-hitting animation will explain exactly what that means. It’s a great tool anyone can use to educate children and adults about our right to life, liberty, and the property we create - and our responsibility to think, speak and act. When you hear Ron Paul say that he stands for the Philosophy of Liberty, this is what he means.

Freedom Movement needs more leaders and visionaries…this is essential reading!
An excerpt: “I believe the freedom movement should now be focusing their efforts in moving liberty-minded celebrities and luminaries (both national and local) to start aggressively speaking out on behalf of Dr. Paul and the message of freedom. At this juncture, these endorsements would go a long way towards providing the rocket fuel that would aid the polls further in moving in the right direction.” Read more

Has a power struggle has commenced within the super-elite itself?
This article gives a lot of hope. It is written before Ron Paul made his decision to run—talking a lot about how the freedom movement must come together in unity if we are to win. Here’s an interesting excerpt I found encouraging:
“Here’s a thought: both major parties may be controlled from the top—but several of my associates have offered compelling arguments that a power struggle has commenced within the super-elite itself.” Read more…

This excerpt describes what is happening in the Ron Paul freedom movement—Ron Paul inspires us to work together for a common cause…freedom!
“Love and freedom together are the foundation of any healthy society, which makes this cause for serious alarm. Nothing else matters so much as do love and freedom. Cultural details and religious beliefs can vary; such things are largely matters of taste and familiarity. But love and freedom are essentials – they are important regardless of anything else. When levels of love and freedom are high, other things take care of themselves. Without high levels of love and freedom, disaster is certain. “
“Dr. Paul, and the thousands of volunteers drawn to his campaign, are educating the public about freedom and are creating such enthusiasm that even the corporate, mainstream media is having trouble ignoring the phenomenon. It is actually possible that the Paul campaign will, directly or indirectly, halt and perhaps even begin reversing the slide into tyranny that has, until now, seemed unstoppable.
If there is anything more positive for the future of freedom and compassion in this country, I have yet to see it. I urge you to support Ron Paul's campaign in whatever way you can. “

The Paul campaign has evolved into "a self-directed, decentralized organization full of people who take the initiative locally," Rockwell told me. He believes that the movement will continue, whatever happens electorally, and that's a good portent for the future of freedom. He notes that especially the young supporters seem interested in reading and learning about freedom as well as attending rallies.
